Avatar

"Avatar" refers to a popular science fiction film directed by James Cameron. It was released in 2009 and became a global phenomenon, breaking several box office records. The film is set in the mid-22nd century on the fictional planet of Pandora, where humans are engaged in mining a valuable mineral called unobtanium. The story follows a paraplegic former Marine named Jake Sully, who is sent to Pandora in an avatar, a remotely controlled bioengineered body resembling the planet's native humanoid species, the Na'vi. Through his avatar, Jake becomes involved in a conflict between the humans and the Na'vi as he gradually embraces their way of life and falls in love with a Na'vi woman.
